This study aims to find out: The correlation between the sense of humor and job stress. The hypothesis proposed there is a negative correlation between the sense of humor and job stress. The subjects of this study were 50 employees of BGES WITEL Medan. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling. Data collection used a scale of sense of humor and job stress. Data collection in a separate try out, namely between the trial and the study, is carried out not simultaneously. Data analysis techniques used product moment correlation analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the value of r = -0.352 with p = 0.01 means that there is a significant negative correlation between the sense of humor and job stress. The results of the study data showed an empirical average sense of humor of 63.18 and a hypothetical mean (RH) = 50 which means that the study subjects had a relatively high level of sense of humor. Job stress in the study subjects was relatively low indicated by empirical mean = 80.38 and hypothetical mean (RH) = 90. The role or effective contribution of the sense of humor to job stress was = 12.4%. this means that there are 87.6% of other aspects of job stress in employees such as social skills, social support, self-control, and material sources. The conclusion of the research results is that there is a very significant negative correlation between the sense of humor and job stress. This research data is an effort to contribute to ideas and interpretations about the correlation between sense of humor and job stress and as a recommendation in overcoming problems related to job stress.
