In the independence of learning in adolescents who boarding and not boarding at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. Research samples were 100 people. With the hypothesis: There are differences in learning independence for boarding students and not boarding at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. The assumption was that students of the Faculty of Psychology, Medan University, in the area of boarding, had low learning independence or compared to students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan. Areas that were not boarding had high learning independence. This research was arranged based on Likert scale method by using the scale of Learning Independence measured based on a scale compiled from aspects of learning independence (Havighurst, 2002), namely: social aspects, emotional aspects, and economic aspects. After data analysis, the results of the study were obtained: The hypothesis in this study was accepted. This result is known by looking at the value or coefficient of difference has a significance of 0.000 < 0.050, this means that the significance value obtained is smaller than 0.050 the difference coefficient is 1.020. Based on the comparison of the two average values (hypothetical and empirical), it can be stated that the Non-boarding Teens learning independence is considered high because the hypothetical average value of 80 is smaller than the empirical average value of 89.34 and vice versa, Kos Teens Learning Independence accepted as low because the hypothetical average value of 80 is greater than the empirical average value of 70.78.en_US
