Hubungan Konsep Diri dengan Kepercayaan Diri Remaja Panti Asuhan Al-Jamia'Yatul Washliyah (Pulo Brayan)

Abstract

This study aims to test empirically about the relationship of self-concept with the self-confidence of teenager Al-Jamia'yatul Washliyah Orphanage in Pulo Brayan Medan. The hypothesis proposed in this study is there is a positive relationship between self-concept with self-esteem in adolescent orphanage, with higher self concept assumption hence higher confidence of adolescent, and vice versa lower self concept hence lower adolescent confidence. Data collection methods in this study using two scales consisting of self-concept scale and scale of self confidence. This research was conducted at Al-Jamia'yatulWashliyah Orphanage in PuloBrayan Medan with total population of 115 people and the number of samples taken as many as 50 young women. The sampling technique used Purposive Sampling technique. Based on the data analysis, the following results are obtained: 1). There is a significant positive relationship between self-concept and self-esteem of juvenile orphans, where rxy = 0,597; p = 0.000, mean p <0,05. Based on the results of this study, the proposed hypothesis is accepted. 2). Confidence is influenced by self-concept of 35.6% and other factors that influence 64.4%. 3). Other research results obtained from this study that the young women orphanage turned out to have a low self-concept, because the hypothetical mean 67.5 is greater than the empirical mean of 53.80 where the difference exceeds the value of elementary school 10,182 and self-esteem of adolescent girls orphanage exist in the low category, since the hypothetical mean 50 is greater than the empirical mean 40.62 where the difference exceeds the SD value of 8,708.
