Abstract: Land limitations that do not allow for horizontal development, so that a vertical downward development solution is needed in the form of basement and vertical upwards. This is also a problem for the development of "Podomoro City Deli Medan". The thing that must be considered in the construction of the basement is the basement excavation protection structure in the form of a diaphragm wall which is reinforced with ground anchor to maintain soil stability and prevent soil collapse next to the basement. Therefore, it is necessary to plan the right diaphragm wall. For solving the above problems, data collection and processing are carried out. Data collection is done by way of project visits to obtain field data (soil parameter data obtained from SPT testing, diaphragm wall data properties and ground anchor data). The data obtained is then processed using the Rankine, Terzaghi and finite element method. The results of data processing using Rankine and Terzaghi methods show that the diaphragm wall is safe against rolling force (Fgl = 4.369> 2.0) and shear force (Fgs = 2.57> 2.0) and has a large soil carrying capacity (qu = 2301 t / m2, qa = 767.108 t / m2, with a safe factor F = 3) so that it is expected to receive a large external force. Whereas for calculations with finite element method shows that the diaphragm wall is safe because it does not experience collapse during excavation. So it can be concluded that the diaphragm wall that has been analyzed is feasible/safe is used as a retaining wall for the construction of the basement in the construction project "Podomoro City Deli Medan", because the decrease in diaphragm wall is insignificant (small decrease number, 5,72 cm with a safe factor 3,1526).
