Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effectiveness of public catalogs in making it easier for people to access books in the Medan City Library, here will find out how the effectiveness of public catalogs in making it easier for people to access books in the Medan City Library. Where many indicators can measure the Effectiveness of Public Catalogs in Facilitating People Accessing Books in the Medan City Library By looking at several indicators to determine the success of the Program, namely Clarity of objectives to be achieved, Process Analysis and Formulation, Programming and Mature Planning Work facilities and infrastructure are available Effective and efficient implementation of a system of supervision and control that is educational, the problem faced is the readiness of human resources to be tested by implementing the OPAC System, in this study using a qualitative descriptive method, the location of the study was conducted in Medan City Library, data collection techniques were interviews , observation and documentation, it can be concluded that the Effectiveness of Public Catalogs in Facilitating Communities Accessing Books in Medan City Library goes well.
