Hubungan Antara Konsep Diri dengan Kepercayaan Diri pada Mahasiswa Psikologi yang sedang Menyelesaikan Skripsi di Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

This study aims to see the relationship between self-concept and self-confidence in students who are completing a thesis, where the subjects in this study are UMA psychology faculty students who are completing the 2015 thesis in the VIII semester 2019. Self-concept with student self-confidence those who are completing the thesis in this study were revealed on a Likert scale. The data analysis method used in this study is product moment correlation, the following results are obtained: 1) There is a significant positive relationship between selfconcept and self-confidence in students who are completing their thesis. This result is proven by the rxy correlation coefficient = 0.715; P = 0,000 <0,05. 2) that the self-concept possessed by students influences or emphasizes the emergence of self-confidence in students who are completing their thesis by 51.1%. From these results it is known that there are still 48.9% of other factors towards self-confidence in students who are completing their thesis. where these factors in this study are not visible, including factors from experience, self-esteem, and education. 3) that UMA psychology faculty students have a high self concept (empirical mean = 131,940> hypothetical mean = 112,5 where the difference between the two means exceeds SD number = 12,319) and confidence in students who are completing the thesis is classified as high (empirical mean = 174,045> hypothetical mean = 145 where the difference between the two means exceeds SD number = 15,608). from the results of this study, the proposed hypothesis was declared accepted.
