Abstract: This study aims to determine the differences in Prosocial Behavior of Psychology Students at the University of Medan Area in terms of Introverted and Extroverted Personality Types. The sample in this study were 75 students. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. With the hypothesis: There are differences in prosocial behavior in terms of extroverted and introverted personality types in the Medan Area University psychology student, with the assumption: Extroverted personality types have higher prosocial behavior than introverted personality types. The method of data collection uses a scale of prosocial behavior and personality type. Prosocial behavior is organized based on aspects according to Mussen et al (in Rufaida, 2009): Sharing (helping), Helping, Cooperation (cooperating), Acting honestly (donating), Donating, and Considering the welfare of others. This result is known by looking at the value or coefficient of difference has a significance of 0.000 <0.050, this means that the significance value obtained is smaller than 0.050. Thus the proposed hypothesis is accepted. Based on the calculation of hypothetical and empirical mean values it can be concluded that prosocial behavior is high because the empirical average value of 98.85 is greater than the hypothetical mean value of 85. Then the Prosocial behavior of the extrovert personality type is high because the empirical average value 98.21 is greater than the average value of 85. Furthermore, the Prosocial Behavior of the introverted personality type is relatively low because the empirical mean value of 75.13 is smaller than the hypothetical mean value of 85.
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Perbedaan Perilaku Prososial Pada Mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Medan Area Ditinjau dari Tipe Kepribadian Introvert dan Ekstrovert.
