| Abstract: | Uric acid is a product of purine biosynthesis that has been known to be associated with metabolic diseases. The risk of uric acid metabolic impairment can also occurin patients with hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between uric acid and blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Gatot Subroto Clinical Laboratory Medan in 2018. This research is a correlative analytic study on 50 type 2 DM patients. Data collection was carried out by checking levels uric acid and fasting blood sugar levels in the study subjects. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test and estimation models with linear regression. Based on the results of data analysis obtained r = 0,14 which shows that there is no significant relationship between gout and blood sugar levels. |
| Description: | Asam urat merupakan hasil biosintesis purin yang telah terbukti memiliki kaitan dengan penyakit-penyakit metabolik. Resiko gangguan metabolisme asam urat juga dapat terjadi pada pasien hiperinsulinemia dan resistensi insulin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara asam urat dengan kadar gula darah pada pasien Diabetes Mellitus tipe 2 di Laboratorium Klinik Gatot Subroto Medan tahun 2018. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik korelatif pada 50 pasien DM tipe 2. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memeriksa kadar asam urat dan kadar gula darah puasa pada subjek penelitian. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi pearson serta model estimasi dengan regresi linier. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh r = 0,14 yang menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara asam urat dengan kadar gula darah. |
