Abstract: Response of Growth and Production and also Resistance to pest attacks and disiases essential of Sweet corn plants with the Durian skin Biochar application and with Chicken Manure. Essay. Under the Guidance of Azwana, as Chairman and Sumihar Hutapea, as a member of the supervisor.This research was conducted at the Medan Area Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Garden located on Kolam Street No. 1 Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan, altitude + 12 meters above sea level, with flat topography and alluvial lands. The research takes place June through August 2018. The design used in this study was Random Design of Group Factorial (RDG), with 2 research factors, namely: 1) Factors for durian skin biochar (D notation) consisted of 4 levels, namely: D0 = control (without biochar); D1 = 5 ton/ ha (0,72) kg durian skin biochar / plot; D2 = 1 ton/ ha (1,44) kg durian skin biochar / plot; D3 = 1.5 ton/ha (2,16) kg durian skin biochar / plot, and 2) Chicken manure (A notation) factor consists of 4 levels, namely: A0 = control (without chicken manure); A1 = chicken manure 1 ton/ ha (1,44) kg / plot; A2 = 1.5 ton/ ha (2,16) kg chicken manure / plot; A3 = 2 ton/ ha (2,88) kg chicken manure / plot. Each treatment was repeated 2 times. Observable parameters such as: plant height, number of leaves, diameter of stem, cob weight with klobot per sample plant, cob weight without klobot per plant sample, cob weight and klobot per plot, the percentage of pest and diseases attacks. The research: 1) The giving of durian skin biochar has a real effect of plant’s height, diameter of stem, cob weight and klobot per sample, cob weight without klobot per sample, cob weight and klobot per plot, cob weight without klobot per plot and diameter of stem, and an unreal effect on number of leaves, percentage of cob drill attacks and percentage of bulai diseases attack; 2) The giving of chicken manure significantly affected plant’s height, diameter of stem, cob weight and klobot per sample, cob weight without klobot per sample, cob weight and klobot per plot, cob weight without klobot per plot and diameter of stem, and an unreal effect on number of leaves, percentage of cob drill attacks and percentage of bulai diseases attack; and 3) The combination of the two treatment factors has no significant effect on all observed parameters.
Description: Respon Pertumbuhan dan Produksi serta Ketahanan Terhadap Serangan Hama dan Penyakit Penting pada Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt) dengan Aplikasi Biochar Kulit Durian dan Pupuk Kandang Ayam. Skripsi. Di bawah bimbingan Azwana, selaku Ketua Pembimbing dan Sumihar Hutapea, selaku Anggota Pembimbing. Penelitia dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area di Jl. Kolam No. 1 Medan Estate, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, dengan ketinggian tempat 12 meter di atas permukaan laut, dengan topografi datar dan tanah alluvial. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sejak bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2018. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial, dengan 2 faktor penelitian, yaitu : 1) Faktor pemberian biochar kulit durian (notasi D) dengan 4 taraf : D0 = kontrol (tanpa biochar); D1 = biochar kulit durian 1 ton/ ha (0,72) kg/ plot; D2 = biochar kulit durian 1 ton/ha (1,44) kg/plot; D3 = biochar kulit durian 1,5 ton/ha (2,16) kg/plot, dan 2) Faktor pemberian pupuk kandang ayam (notasi A) dengan 4 taraf, yakni : A0= kontrol (tanpa pupuk kandang ayam); A1= pupuk kandang ayam 1 ton/ha (1,44) kg/plot; A2= pupuk kandang ayam 1,5 ton/ha (2,16) kg/plot; A3= pupuk kandang ayam 2 ton/ha (2,16) kg/plot. Jumlah ulangan 2. Parameter yang diamati yaitu : tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, bobot tongkol dengan klobot per tanaman sampel, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot per tanaman sampel, bobot tongkol dan klobot per plot, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot per plot, diameter tongkol, persentase serangan hama dan penyakit penting. Dari penelitian ini : 1) Pemberian biochar kulit durian berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, bobot tongkol dan klobot per sampel, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot per sampel, bobot tongkol dan klobot per plot, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot per plot dan diameter tongkol, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap jumlah daun, persentase serangan penggerek tongkol dan persentase serangan penyakit bulai; 2) Pemberian pupuk kandang berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, bobot tongkol dan klobot per sampel, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot per sampel, bobot tongkol dan klobot per plot, bobot tongkol tanpa klobot per plot dan diameter tongkol, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap jumlah daun, persentase serangan penggerek tongkol dan persentase serangan penyakit bulai; dan 3) Kombinasi kedua faktor perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter yang diamati.
