Abstract: The Response of The Giving of Goat Manure and POC of Waste Tofu that Mixed With Eggshell toward The Growth and The Production of Watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris Schard). Essay. In the guidance of Erwin Pane as the chairman of the mentor and Ellen L.Panggabean as the member of the mentor. The research was done in the Experimental Garden of Faculty of Agriculture, Medan Area University, Jalan PBSI No. 1 Medan Estate, Sub district of Percut Sei Tuan with the height was 22 meter above the sea level, the topography was flat, and the type of soil was alluvial, was held since October to November 2018. This research was done by using the Factorial randomized block design (RBD), with 2 factors: 1) The factor of the dose of the goat manure (notated by K) consisting of 5 levels of treatment, that are : K0 = without the goat manure; K1 = 3 kg/ plot; K2 = 6 kg/ plot; K3 = 9 kg/ plot; K4 = 12 kg/ plot; 2) The factor of the combination of POC (liqud organic fertilizer) of the waste tofu and the eggshell (notated by L), consisting of 4 levels of treatment, : L0 = with the NPK fertilizer; L1 = 200 ml of POC (liqud organic fertilize) of waste tofu 100 g eggshell per plot; L2 = 400 ml POC of waste tofu 200 g eggshell per plot; L3 = 600 ml POC (liquid organic fertilizer ) of waste tofu 300 g eggshell per plot, each treatment repeated twice. The observed parameter in this research was the length of the plant, the flowering age, the number of fruit per sample, the number of fruit per plot, the coil of fruit per sample, the weight of fruit per sample, and the weight of fruit per plot. The results from this research were 1) the giving of the goat manure had a real effect towards the length of the plant, the coil of the fruit per sample, the weight of the fruit per sample and the weight of the fruit per plot, but had no real effect towards the flowering age, the number of fruit per sample and the number of fruit per plot. The giving of 12 kg/ plot of the goat manure was the treatment that could increase the growth and the production of watermelon; 2) The giving of POC (liqud organic fertilizer) of the waste tofu eggshell had a real effect towards the length of the plant, the coil of the fruit per sample, the weight of the fruit per sample and the weight of the fruit per plot, but had no real effect towards the flowering age, the number of the fruit per sample and the number of fruit per plot. And POC (liquid organic fertilizer ) of the waste tofu with dose 600 ml eggshell 300 g/ plot was the treatment that could increase the growth and the production of watermelon; and 3) The combination of the both treatment factor had no real factor towards the growth and the production of the watermelon.

Di bawah bimbingan Erwin Pane, selaku Ketua Pembimbing dan Ellen L. Panggabean, selaku Anggota Pembimbing. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas pertanian Universitas Medan Area yang berlokasi di Jalan PBSI No.1 Medan Estate, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan dengan ketinggian 22 meter di atas permukaan laut, topografi datar dan jenis tanah alluvial, sejak bulan September sampai Oktober 2018. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial, dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu :1) Faktor dosis pupuk kandang kambing (notasi K) yang terdiri dari 5 taraf, yakni : K0 = tanpa pupuk kandang kambing; K1 = 3 kg/ plot; K2 = 6 kg/ plot; K3 = 9 kg/ plot; K4 = 12 kg/ plot; 2) Faktor kombinasi POC limbah tahu dan cangkang telur (notasi L), terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan, yakni : L0= pemberian pupuk NPK; L1 = 200ml POC (Pupuk organik cair) limbah tahu 100g cangkang telur per plot; L2 = 400 ml POC limbah tahu 200 g cangkang telur per plot; L3 = 600 ml POC ( Pupuk organik cair) limbah tahu 300 g cangkang telur per plot, masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 2 kali. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah panjang tanaman, umur berbunga, jumlah buah per sampel, jumlah buah per plot, lilit buah per sampel, bobot buah per sampel dan bobot buah per plot. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, yakni :1) Pemberian pupuk kandang kambing berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang tanaman, lilit buah per sampel, bobot buah per sampel dan bobot buah per plot, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap umur berbunga, jumlah buah per sampel dan buah per plot. Pemberian pupuk kandang kambing sebanyak 12 kg/ plot merupakan perlakuan yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka; 2) Pemberian POC (Pupuk organik cair) limbah tahu cangkang telur berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang tanaman, lilit buah per sampel, bobot buah per sampel dan bobot buah per plot, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap umur berbunga, jumlah buah per sampel dan buah per plot. dan POC ( Pupuk organik cair) limbah tahu dengan dosis 600 ml cangkang telur 300 g/ plot merupakan perlakuan yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka; dan 3) Kombinasi kedua faktor perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka.
