Title: Perbandingan Kuat Geser antara Sengkang "I" dan Sengkang "L" pada Balok Beton Bertulang

Abstract: Reinforced concrete needs reinforcement which is flexure and shear reinforcements. The reinforcement to resist shear forces commonly named as shear reinforcement or cross-section reinforcement. The shear forces generally occur along with flexural forces/moment, torque or normal/axial. The research was conducted to study the “I” cross-section strength and to compare it with the “L” cross-section strength which is uncommonly used. The study aimed to find out the maximum shear loads, maximum shear strength, and large of the differences between the “I” and “L” cross-sections to the simple reinforced concrete beams. The research was conducted at the Concrete Laboratory of Civil Engineering Study Program of the University of North Sumatra. The total sample of testing tools made were 6 tools, each variation made in 3 samples. The variations used were the 45 mm cross-section space, the beam measure was 15 cm width and 15 cm height, by the beam span of 50 cm. Based on the analysis, it was obtained on the maximum shear loads of 23.4 kN and maximum shear strength of 9.56 kN to the “I” cross-section, whereas the maximum shear loads of 22.8 kN and maximum shear strength of 8.99 kN to the “L” cross-section and the difference in flexural strength between both types of the cross-sections was 6.25% and occurred on the shear load of 2.56%. In the using, on the “I” crosssection, it can minimize the economic value, but it is not too high compared with the “L” cross-section and does not have a too large ratio with the material economic value.
Description: Beton bertulang memerlukan penulangan berupa penulangan lentur dan geser. Tulangan untuk menahan gaya geser biasa dinamakan tulangan geser atau tulangan sengkang. Gaya geser umumnya tidak bekerja sendiri, tetapi terjadi bersamaan dengan gaya lentur/momen, torsi atau normal/aksial. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji tentang kekuatan sengkang “I” dan membandingkan dengan kekuatan sengkang “L” yang sangat tidak lazim digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui beban geser maksimal, kuat geser maksimal, dan besar perbedaannya antara sengkang ”I” dan sengkang “L” pada balok beton bertulang sederhana. Lokasi penelitian adalah di Laboratorium Beton di Prodi Teknik Sipil Universitas Sumatera Utara. Total sampel benda uji yang dibuat sejumlah 6 buah, tiap variasi dibuat 3 sampel. Variasi yang digunakan spasi sengkang 45 mm, ukuran balok lebar 15 cm dan tinggi 15 cm, dengan bentang balok 50 cm. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa pada beban geser maksimal sebesar 23,4 kN dan kuat geser maksimal sebesar 9,56 kN untuk sengkang “I”, beban geser maksimal sebesar 22,8 kN dan kuat geser maksimal sebesar 8,99 kN untuk sengkang “L” dan selisih kekuatan geser antara kedua jenis sengkang tersebut sebesar 6,25% dan terjadi pada beban geser sebesar 2,56 %. Dalam penggunaannya, pada sengkang “I” dapat meminimalisir nilai ekonomis, namun tidak terlampau jauh dibanding dengan sengkang “L” dan tidak memiliki perbandingan yang begitu besar dengan nilai ekonomis bahan.
