Culture Shock Dalam Interaksi Komunikasi Antar Budaya pada Mahasiswa Asal Papua di Universitas Negeri Medan

Abstract

The research method used was descriptive qualitative research, carried out to obtain findings in the field directly to answer the research objectives. The subject of this study were Papuan students studying at UNIMED. The results showed that students from Papua had a culture shock tendency. But they are almost able to adjust and feel comfortable living in the environment. Faculty and self-motivation also influence the communication process that exists between Papuan students and other UNIMED students. Students from Papua are not always friends with each other but they also mingle with other students so they can adjust to their new environment and feel comfortable studying at UNIMED
