Hubungan antara Kecerdasan Emosional dengan Kedisiplinan pada Siswa SMK Yayasan Pendidikan Farmasi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and discipline in vocational students at the North Sumatra Pharmacy Education Foundation. The subjects of this study were 90 vocational high school students of the North Sumatra Foundation Pharmacy XI with Purposive Sampling techniques. Data collection uses two scales namely the emotional intelligence scale compiled using the Goleman theory and the disciplinary scale compiled using the Arikunto theory using the Likert method. Data analysis in this study used a correlational test using the Pearson product moment. From the analysis results, obtained (rxy = 0.483; p = 0.000 < 0.005) This means that the hypothesis is accepted, the higher the emotional intelligence, the higher the discipline and vice versa. In this study, emotional intelligence was classified as moderate with an empirical mean of 48.99, and discipline was classified as low with an empirical mean of 60.90. The contribution of emotional intelligence to discipline was 23.3% (r2 = 0.233).
