Abstract

Thisstudyaimstolookatdifferencesinanxietyfacingtheworldofworkintermsofgenderin class XII SMKN 10 Medan. Anxiety is a reaction from a situation that is related to the suppressionandrejectionoftheenvironment,givingrisetounpleasantfeelings.Thisresearch uses a comparative quantitative approach. The research sample of 122 students majoring in Food and Multimedia. The sampling technique uses total sampling technique. In line with the discussion in the theoretical basis, the hypothesis proposed in this study is that there are differences in anxiety facing the world of work in terms of the sex of class XII students of SMKN 10 Medan. This study uses an anxiety scale consisting of four aspects: mood, mind, motivation,behavior.DatacollectionisdonebyusingaLikertscaletype.Dataprocessingwas performed using the T test. Based on the data processing of the T Test, the results were obtainedthat thereweredifferencesin anxietyfacing theworld ofworkin terms ofgenderin class XII students of SMKN 10 Medan. . These results are known by looking at the value or coefficient of difference t = 5.424 and P <0.05 .. in the high category and anxiety in male studentsat67.13withSD10.576includedinthelowcategory.Fromtheaveragevaluecanbe seen there is a difference in the average value of anxiety of 20.63 and a total of 10.149 SD. This means that from the average value of anxiety, there are differences in anxiety facing the world of work in terms of gender, ie female students have higher anxiety compared to male students.
