Abstract: | Intersections are a source of traffic conflict, one of which is congestion. The intersection of four arms on Jalan Mandala By Pass - Jalan Selamat Ketaren - and Jalan Letda Sujono are one of the locations that often occur due to congestion due to irregular intersection of traffic flow and there are various shops around it that cause the geometric of the road can no longer accommodate the passing vehicles . The performance of the Mandala By Pass crossroads has reached poor conditions as a result of the increasing growth of traffic flow in the city of Medan. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze and examine the characteristics of traffic at the Mandala By Pass crossing. Data processing is done by using methods on the Indonesian Road Capacity manual (1997) to calculate the degree of saturation and traffic delays at the intersections. Based on these conditions, the degree of saturation (DS) of existing traffic is worth 1,54 for all approaches and the averageintersection delay is 467,11 sec/pcu, and the service level F (very bad). Intersections performance has been improved by MKJI method namely by decreasing green time (g) in accordance with MKJI standards in order to shorten cycle time (c). With alternative results obtained degree of saturations (DS) of 0,95 and the intersection delay of average is 15,08 sec/pcu, and the service level of the intersection can be C (medium), which means the flow has stabilized and the speed can be controlled by traffic. |
Description: | Persimpangan merupakan sumber konflik lalu lintas salah satunya kemacetan. |
