Kajian Pemanfaatan Debit Sungai Silau ke Sungai Bunut untuk Kebutuhan Irigasi pada Daerah Irigasi Serbangan dan Panca Arga di Kabupaten Asahan

Abstract

The problem of water resources from year to year is more frequent, this is due to the increasing number of parties who have an interest in water. This problem almost occurs in all watersheds in the River Region (WS) in all regions of Indonesia. Excess water in the rainy season, lack of water storage, and damage to water catchments are the causes of the low ability of the soil to store water, so water is wasted in the sea. Whereas in the dry season water shortages often occur causing many fields to not get water. In the hydrological cycle the quantity of rainfall that occurs in one year is constant (if there is no increase in the amount of rain due to the effects of global warming) but the intensity, duration and spread are different. Another problem is regarding water quality, where a lot of water pollution occurs due to domestic, industrial, urban, agricultural and so on. One of these problems also occurs in DI. Serbangan and DI. Panca Arga which in the present condition has been experiencing a shortage of water discharge for irrigation needs. For this reason, research is needed to assess the potential that exists to overcome the problems that occur.
