dc.descriptionPenelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang dilakukan peneliti dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis dan kematangan emosi pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah ada hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis dan kematangan emosi pada mahasiswa. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area Stambuk 2016 di Kampus 1 berjumlah 216 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 87 orang mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala pola asuh demokratis dan skala kematangan emosi. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis product moment. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh hasil ada hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis dengan kematangan emosi dengan koefisien korelasi rxy sebesar 0,550 dengan p = 0,000 (p = < 0,05) yang artinya hipotesis diterima, yaitu ada hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis dan kematangan emosi. Pola asuh demokratis berkontribusi besar terhadap kematangan emosi sebesar 30,1% sedangkan sisanya 69,9% ditentukan oleh faktor-faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis research is a quantitative study conducted by researchers with the aim to determine the relationship between democratic parenting and emotional maturity in students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a relationship between democratic parenting and emotional maturity in students. The population in the study were all students of the 2016 Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area, on Campus 1, amounting to 216 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, the number of samples in this study were 87 students. Data collection techniques use the scale of democratic parenting and emotional maturity scale. Data analysis techniques in this study used product moment analysis. Based on the results of the analysis it was found that there was a relationship between democratic parenting with emotional maturity with a correlation coefficient of 0.550 with p = 0.000 (p = <0.05), which means the hypothesis was accepted, namely there was a relationship between democratic parenting and emotional maturity. Democratic parenting contributed greatly to emotional maturity by 30.1% while the remaining 69.9% was determined by other factors not examined in this study.en_US
