Abstract: This study aims to determine and empirically test the Relationship between Krja Motivation and Procrastination in PTPN IV Medan Employees. The sample in this study were 60 employees of PTPN IV Medan. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. Assuming the better the work motivation, the lower the procrastination and vice versa the worse the work motivation, the higher the procrastination. The data collection method uses a work motivation scale based on its characteristics according to Tiffin and Mc Cormick (2002): Tenacity, Absenteeism, Progress, and Achievement. Furthermore, the scale of procrastination is arranged based on the aspects of procrastination according to Ferrari, et al and Stell (2015) as follows: Perceived time, Intention-action, Emotional distress, and Perceived ability. From the results of the statistical analysis of product moment correlations it is known that there is a negative relationship between work motivation and procrastination, where rxy = = -0.519 with a significant p = 0.000 <0.050. This means that the proposed hypothesis the higher the work motivation, the lower the procrastination is accepted. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between the independent variable X and the dependent variable Y is equal to r2 = 0. This shows that motivation contributes to procrastination by 26.9%. Based on the results of the empirical and hypothetical mean values, it can be concluded that the work motivation received is relatively low because the hypothetical average value of 60 is greater than the empirical average value of 46.10 and the procrastination received classified as high because the average hypothetical value of 85 is smaller than the empirical average value of 113.18.
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menguji secara empiris Hubungan Motivasi Krja dengan Prokrastinasi Pada Karyawan PTPN IV Medan. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 60 Karyawan PTPN IV Medan. Pengambilan sampelnya menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Dengan asumsi semakin baik motivasi kerja maka prokrastinasi semakin rendah dan sebaliknya semakin buruk motivasi kerja maka prokrastinasi semakin tinggi. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala motivasi kerja brdasarkan ciri-cirinya menurut Tiffin dan Mc cormick (2002): Keuletan, Tingkat absensi, Kemajuan, dan Pencapaian prestasi. Selanjutnya skala prokrastinasi disusun berdasarkan Aspek prokrastinasi menurut Ferrari, dkk dan Stell (2015)sebagai berikut:Perceived time, Intentionaction, Emotional distress, dan Perceived ability. Dari hasil analisa statistik korelasi product moment diketahui bahwa ada hubungan negatif antara motivasi kerja dengan prokrastinasi, dimana rxy = = -0.519 dengan signifikan p = 0.000 < 0,050. Artinya hipotesis yang diajukan semakin tinggi motivasi kerja maka semakin rendah prokrastinasi dinyatakan diterima. Koefisien determinan (r2) dari hubungan antara variabel bebas X dengan variabel terikat Y adalah sebesar r2 = 0 .269. Ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berkontribusi terhadap prokrastinasi sebesar 26.9%.Berdasarkan hasil nilai rata-rata empiric dan hipotetik maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi kerja yang diterima tergolong rendah karena nilai rata-rata hipotetik 60 lebih besar dari nilai rata-rata empiric 46.10 dan prokrastinasi yang diterima tergolong tiinggi sebab nilai rata-rata hipotetik 85 lebih kecil dari nilai rata-rata empiric 113.18.
