Hubungan Antara Konsep Diri dengan Kecenderungan Cinderella Complex pada Remaja Putri di Kecamatan Medan Helvetia

Abstract

This study aims to look at the correlation between self concept with tendency of Cinderella Complex at female teenager in Medan Helvetia district. Cinderella Complex is an attitude and fear that is mostly caused by stress so that female can’t and don’t dare to take full advantage of their brain power and creativity. This research is a quantitative correlation study with the sample in this study were 35 female teenager who have boy friend sampling with Purposive Sampling methods. Methods of data analysis through r Product Moment. Data collection was performed using a Likert scale model for self concept and Guttman scale model for tendency of Cinderella Complex. The research hypothesis is a negative correlation between self concept and tendency of Cinderella Complex. Based on the results of data analysis, through the calculation of the r Product Moment correlation analysis obtained coefficient 𝑟𝑥𝑦 = 0.484 and the determinant coefficient (𝑟2) 0.234 with p = 0.05. This show that self concept is related the tendency of Cinderella Complex at female teenager with a contribution of 23.4%. Furthermore, seen from the calculation of hypothetical mean = 57.5 and the empirical mean = 47.94 it is known that self concept is in low category and standart deviation = 13.941. As well as the tendency of Cinderella Complex calculation of hypothetical mean = 31.5 and the empirical mean = 29.23 it is known that tendency of Cinderella Complex is in medium category and standart deviation = 5.917. Therefore, the results of this research hypothesis are accepted.
