Hubungan Antara Kecerdasan Emosional dengan Kecemasan Menghadapi Pensiun pada Karyawan PDAM Tirtanadi Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This research aims to know the relationship between emotional of intelligence of pre-retirement anxiety on employee in PDAM Tirtanadi North Sumatera Province. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and pre-retirement anxiety on employees. This subjects of this study were 34 employees PDAM Tirtanadi North Sumatera Province who were in the preparation period for retirement and the sampling was done by Total Sampling technique.Themethod of collecting data in this research is scale method. The scale method used in this researchwere emotional intelligence scale and pre-retirement anxiety scale.The data analysing used in this research was pearsonproduct moment.Based on the ontained data analysing, the proposed hypothesis in this research is stated to be accepted ((rxy = -0,365 ;p = 0.000< 0,010) meaning that the low the emotional intelligence, the higher pre-retirement anxiety. Emotional of intelligence contributed (13,3% (r2)=0,133), the rest (86,7%) is influenced by the other factors not examined in this study.
