Abstract: | Research was carried out at the intersection of Pelangi in Medan city because at the intersection it has a large enough density and density. In connection with this, research needs to be done using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual 1997. This study aims to analyze whether the use of signals (traffic light) at the Pelangi intersection still has a good performance in overcoming the road traffic flow at the intersection. Calculation of analysis and simulation applied in this study uses MKJI 1997 method. The primary data taken in the research are road geometric, environmental conditions, parking distance, traffic volume, and signal usage. While the secondary data needed is data on the population of Medan City. Based on the results of data analysis, the intersection degree of saturation (DS) is 0.74 and the vehicle delay is 38.75 seconds. In accordance with DS value and delay value, the performance of Pelangi intersection is in the category (Level Of Service) D where the traffic flow is less stable and sometimes often causes congestion. Deviation handling is done by changing the lost time (LTI) and green time (g) in accordance with the standard normal value of green intervals in MKJI intended to shorten cycle time (c). From the simulation results with cycle time (c) = 130 seconds and time lost (LTI) = 20 seconds, the value of Ds = 0.59 and a delay of 15.22 seconds is obtained. With the results of the simulation calculation, it can increase the capacity at the Pelangi intersection and increase comfort for road users because of shorter cycle times. |
Description: | Kemacetan adalah salah satu masalah di setiap kota saat itu. Sehubungan dengan hal itu maka perlu di lakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan standar Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah penggunaan sinyal (traffic light) pada simpang Pelangi masih mempunyai kinerja yang baik dalam mengatasi arus lalu lintas jalan pada simpang tersebut. Perhitungan analisis dan simulasi yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode MKJI 1997. Data primer yang diambil dalam penelitian berupa geometrik jalan, kondisi lingkungan, jarak parkir, volume lalu lintas, dan penggunaan sinyal. Sedangkan data sekunder yang dibutuhkan adalah data jumlah penduduk Kota Medan. Berdasarkan hasil analisa data, maka didapatkan nilai derajat kejenuhan (DS) simpang sebesar 0,74 dan tundaan kendaraan sebesar 38,75 detik. Sesuai dengan nilai DS dan nilai tundaan maka kinerja simpang Pelangi berada pada kategori (Level Of Service) D dimana arus lalu lintasnya kurang stabil dan kadang sering menyebabkan kemacetan. Penanganan simpang dilakukan dengan merubah waktu hilang (LTI) dan waktu hijau (g) sesuai dengan standar nilai normal waktu antar hijau di MKJI dimaksudkan agar dapat mempersingkat waktu siklus (c). Dari hasil simulasi dengan waktu siklus (c) = 130 detik dan waktu hilang (LTI) = 20 detik, didapat nilai Ds = 0.59 dan tundaan sebesar 15,22 detik,. Dengan hasil perhitungan simulasi tersebut, maka dapat menambah kapasitas pada simpang Pelangi dan menambah kenyamanan untuk pengguna jalan karena waktu siklus yang lebih pendek. |
