Abstract: Burnout is a problem that develops in all employment both in Indonesia and abroad. Burnout is a term that describes the emotional condition of someone who feels tired and mentally saturated, emotionally and physically as a result of increased work demands. Personality factors tend to play an important role in the emergence of burnout. In the personality study used is Big Five Personality. The purpose of this study was to determine the Burnout difference in terms of the Big Five Personality of emergency room nurses in hospitals in the city of Medan. This study uses the Burnout (Maslach Burnout Inventory) scale and the Big Five Factors Personality (Big Five Inventory) scale. Measurements were made on 150 subjects in emergency room nurses in Medan City. Analysis of the data used in this study is anova one way statistical analysis. The results showed that there was a significant Burnout difference (F = 3.736; Sig = 0.006 <0.05) in terms of the Big Five Factors Personality in hospital emergency room nurses in Medan with agreeableness personality factors having the highest mean burnout (55.74) and neuriticism which has the lowest mean burnout (37.88).
Description: Burnout merupakan permasalahan yang berkembang dalam seluruh ketenaga kerjaan baik di Indonesia maupun di luar negeri. Burnout adalah istilah yang menggambarkan kondisi emosional seseorang yang merasa lelah dan jenuh secara mental, emosional dan fisik sebagai akibat tuntutan pekerjaan yang meningkat. Faktor kepribadian cenderung dalam memainkan peran yang penting atas munculnya burnout. Pada penelitian kepribadian yang digunakan adalah Big Five Personality. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui perbedaan Burnout ditinjau dari Big Five Personality pada perawat IGD rumah sakit di kota Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala Burnout (Maslach Burnout Inventory) dan skala Big Five Factors Personality (Big Five Inventory). Pengukuran dilakukan terhadap 150 subjek pada perawat IGD di Kota Medan. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis statistik anova one way. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan Burnout yang signifikan (F=3,736; Sig=0,006<0,05) ditinjau dari Big Five Factors Personality pada perawat IGD rumah sakit di Kota Medan dengan faktor kepribadian agreeableness memiliki mean Burnout paling tinggi (55,74) dan neuriticism yang memiliki mean Burnout paling rendah (37,88).
