Hubungan Self Esteem dan Self Disclosure dengan Komunikasi Interpersonal pada Siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai

Abstract

This study aims to find out the relationship between self-esteem and self-disclosure with interpersonal communication of students, the approach in this study is a quantitative research approach to the type of correlation research. The research subjects were 59 students in grade X and XI MAN Binjai. Random sampling was 85 students. The object of this study consists of three dependent variables are interpersonal communication and the independent variables are self esteem and self disclosure. This research was conducted at MAN Binjai in May 2018. The data collection technique used in this study was to use a questionnaire in the form of a scale that refers to a person's statement to himself. The data analysis technique used to answer the hypothesis of this study is the multiple regression test. Based on the data analysis, the results show that there is a positive relationship between self esteem and self disclosure with interpersonal communication. This result is proven by the correlation coefficient, where rxy: 0.435; P: 0,000 <0.050. Effective contribution to self esteem with interpersonal communication of 14.8% and effective contribution of self disclosure with interpersonal communication of 4.4%, from the calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean obtained self esteem, self disclosure and interpersonal communication are in the high category. Recommendations: It is recommended to continue to open up and communicate with teachers and fellow friends.
