Hubungan Pola Asuh dan Kecerdasan Emosi dengan Komunikasi Interpersonal pada Siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Binjai

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation of parenting style and emotional intelligence with interpersonal communication of students, knowing the contribution of parenting style and emotional intelligence to interpersonal communication at students. The approach of this research is quantitative research with correlational research type. The subjects of this study are students of class X and XI MAN Binjai amounted to 592. Sampling in random sampling amounted to 85 students. The object of this study consists of three variables, namely the dependent variable is interpersonal communication and the independent variable are parenting style and emotional intelligence. This research was conducted at MAN Binjai in May 2018. The data collection technique conducted in this research is using questionnaire in the form of scale that refers to the statement of himself. Data analysis techniques are used to answer this research hypothesis is multiple regression test. Based on the data analysis, obtained results there is a positive relationships parenting style and emotional intelligence with interpersonal communication. This result is evidenced by the correlation coefficient, where rxy = 0.857; p = 0000 < 0.050. Effective contribution to parenting style with interpersonal communication equal to 73.3% and effective contribution to emotional intelligence with interpersonal communication equal to 50%, from calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean obtained parenting style, emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication are in high category.
