dc.descriptionPenelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menguji dan mendapatkan data secara empiris mengenai hubungan kepercayaan diri dan asertivitas dengan komunikasi interpersonal pada siswa MAN Binjai. Sejalan dengan landasan teori, maka diajukan hipotesa yang berbunyi ada hubungan positif kepercayaan diri dan asertivitas dengan komunikasi interpersonal. Dimana semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri dan semakin tinggi asertivitas maka semakin baik komunikasi interpersonal. Sebaliknya semakin rendah kepercayaan diri dan semakin rendah asertivitas maka semakin baik komunikasi interpersonal. Penelitian ini melibatkan 85 siswa MAN Binjai sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala likert untuk skala kepercayaan diri, skala asertivitas dan skala komunikasi interpersonal. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh hasil terdapat hubungan positif kepercayaan diri dan asertivitas dengan komunikasi interpersonal. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien korelasi, dimana rxy = 0.462; p = 0.000 < 0.050. Sumbangan efektif untuk kepercayaan diri dengan komunikasi interpersonal sebesar 16.5% dan sumbangan efektif untuk asertivitas dengan komunikasi interpersonal sebesar 14.8%. dari hasil perhitungan mean hipotetik dan mean empirik diperoleh kepercayaan diri, asertivitas dan komunikasi interpersonal berada pada kategori tinggi.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe study aims to test and obtain the data empirically about the correlation between self-confidence and assertiveness toward interpersonal communication on students of MAN Binjai. Along with the theoretical base, a hypothesis was proposed that there are a positive relationship among self-confidence, assertiveness and interpersonal communication, where the higher the self confidence and assertiveness, so the better interpersonal communication. In the contrary, the lower the self-confidence and assertiveness, so the worse interpersonal communication. Then, by employing Random Sampling technique, about 85 students of MAN Binjai are selected as the sample. As the data collection scale, Likert scale was organized to count self-confidence, assertiveness and interpersonal communication scales. Then, based on the regression analysis, the result reveals that there is a positive relationship among self-confidence, assertiveness and interpersonal communication. This result is proved by the coefficient correlation, where rxy = 0.462; p = 0.000 < 0.050. The effective contribution between self-confidence and interpersonal communication is as much as 16.5% and between assertiveness and interpersonal communication is as much as 14.8%. Thus, from the calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean, it is gained the self-confidence, assertiveness and interpersonal communication in the high category.en_US
