Strategi Mengurangi Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas di Kota Medan

Abstract

The traffic accident in Indonesia is noted so many. For Medan City, the accident is occurred increasing annually, resulting in much damage as consequence. Based on the data of Asian Development Bank (ADB), the result of research of 2004 indicated a highly lost of economy on traffic accident, nationally is achieved Rp. 41 billion. This condition perhaps make a seriously impact for many household, lost to household welfare, noted achieving 62,5%, since mostly the victim to that accident is head of the household. For so many lost and the impact on the traffic accident, therefor it is required a certain steps and effort to avoid it. But, firstly is should be known the factors causes the traffic accident itself, further it can be taken a systematical effort and make it effective and run in whole. In this study, the region as the object of study is perhaps Medan City. The method adopted to this study is by a literature research, collecting the data, and then produce recommendation. The literature research aimed to have theories related to the traffic accident and support to have the solution. Later, got data taken from Satlantas Poltabes Medan – city police. The data obtained then should be tabulated refers to the requirement, and then analyze the factor causing the accident, and at last to process it out by a simple statistic methode for having a dominant factor cause the traffic accident. From the result of analysis, then make a recommendation of the cause for the accident, it is possible a strategic way to reduce the accident.
