Abstract: | This study aims to see whether there is a relationship between democratic leadership style and employee work discipline in the regional civil service agency in North Sumatra province. The subjects in this study were 30 people. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling, which means the technique of determining the sample by taking all members of the population as respondents or samples (Sugiono, 2009). The hypothesis of this research that says there is a positive relationship between democratic leadership style and employee work discipline, means that the higher the democratic leadership style, the higher the employee's work discipline, on the contrary the more democratic leadership style is, the more the employee's work discipline is. To prove the above hypothesis, the product moment correlation analysis data analysis method is used, where the results are as follows: 1) There is a positive relationship between the democratic leadership style and the work discipline of the civil service staff in the province of North Sumatra. This result is proven by the correlation coefficient rxy = 0.477. 2) The effective contribution of the independent variable to the independent variable on the dependent variable is 22,8 %, which means there are still many influences from other factors at 77,2 %. 3) From the results of the analysis of research the democratic leadership style is high with an average empirical value of 142.96 with a hypothetical mean of 105 and employee work discipline is also classified as moderate with an empirical average value of 27.63 with a hypothetical mean of 25. |
Description: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah ada hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan demokratis dengan disiplin kerja pegawai pada badan kepegawaian daerah provinsi sumatera utara. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 orang. Dengan teknik pengambilan sample pada penelitian ini adalah total sampling, yang artinya teknik penentuan sample dengan mengambil seluruh anggota populasi sebagai responden atau sample (Sugiono, 2009). Adapun hipotesis dari penelitian ini yang berbunyi ada hubungan positif antara gaya kepemimpinan demokratis dengan dispilin kerja pegawai, artinya semakin tinggi gaya kepemimpinan demokratis maka semakin tinggi juga disiplin kerja pegawai, sebaliknya semakin sedang gaya kepemimpinan demokratis maka semakin sedang pula disiplin kerja pegawai. Untuk membuktikan hipotesis diatas maka digunakan metode analisis data analisis korelasi product moment, dimana hasil perolehan sebagai berikut : 1) Ada hubungan positif antara gaya kepemimpinan demokratis dengan disiplin kerja pegawai badan kepegawaian daerah provinsi sumatera utara. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien korelasi rxy = 0,477. 2) Sumbangan efektif dari variabel bebas terhadap variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat adalah sebesar 22,8 %, yang berarti masih banyak pengaruh dari faktor-faktor lain sebesar 77,2 %. 3) Dari hasil analisis penelitaian gaya kepemimpinan demokratis tergolong tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata empirik 142,96 dengan mean hipotetiknya 105 dan disiplin kerja pegawai juga tergolong sedang dengan nilai rata-rata empirik 27,63 dengan mean hipotetiknya 25. |
