Abstract

This is a qualitative research based on phenomena, the purpose is to find out the reasons for domestic violence victims choosing to marry or not remarry, especially for women, knowing how the forms of domestic violence affect the impact of aspects of the readiness to marry victims of domestic violence. Respondents in this study were 2 women who were married and separated from their partners because of the treatment of domestic violence. In this study, the method used was interviews using guidelines, and non-participant observation. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that the two respondents were not prepared either personally to remarry, due to the responsibility to the child, the lack of mental readiness (trauma) to establish further relationships with other men. From the factors of marriage readiness in terms of age, both respondents were mature to get married, but from the aspect of personal readiness, namely life experience and time, had a big influence on the readiness factor of respondents to remarry.
