Abstract

This study aims to determine and test empirically whether there is a positive relationship between the pattern of care with emotional regulation in teenagers post-breakup. Parenting is how parents treat children, educate, guide and discipline and protect children in reaching the process of adulthood, to the establishment of norms expected by society in general, while emotional regulation is a process consciously or unconsciously to maintain, Strengthen or reduce one or more aspects of the emotional response of emotion and behavioral experiences. This study was conducted on post-breaking teenage children in Dendang Marine Village with a sample of 97 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Based on the calculation of Product Moment correlation with the value or coefficient (rxy) = 0.504 and the determinant coefficient (R2) = 0.254 with p = 0.022 <0.050. The determinant coefficient (R2) = 0.254 indicates that emotional regulation related to post-breaking teenage care pattern contributes 25.4%. Furthermore, seen from the calculation of hypothetical mean = 37.5 and empirical mean = 45.19 and standard deviation = 61.02 note that the regulation of emotions in the category of positive emotional regulation. While teenage parenting from the calculation of hypothetical mean = 50 and empirical mean = 58.90 and standard deviation = 76.80 note that the pattern of care in a high category. Thus the hypothesis is accepted.
