Hubungan Dukungan Sosial Dengan Subjective Well Weing Pada Lansia di UPT Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Binjai

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to involve the relationship between social support and subjective well being in the elderly who are in UPT. Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia, Binjai. Using a quantitative method that is using the correlation approach. In this research the sampling technique used purposive sampling technique with a sample of 42 elderly people. The hypothesis in this research is that there is a positive relationship between social support and subjective well being in the elderly. Data collection tools were carried out using the social support scale and the subjective well being scale and were analyzed using the product moment correlation technique. Based on the result of data analysis obtained in this study that the research hypothesis is accepted, which means there is a significant relationship between social support and subjective well being (rxy = 0,817) with a significance rate of 0,000 < 0,010. Which means the higher the social support, the higher the subjective well being, and vice versa. The contribution ol social support and subjective well being is 66,7% (r²= 0,667 the rest (33,3%) is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
