Hubungan Dukungan Sosial Dengan Kepercayaan Diri Pada Atlet Beladiri di Pplp Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and selfconfidence in martial arts athletes at the North Sumatra Student Training Education Center (PPLP), find out the role of social support for athlete's confidence, find out the level of social support of martial arts athletes, and know the level of athlete's confidence pencak silat PPLP North Sumatra. The hypothesis is that there is a positive relationship between social support and selfconfidence. The subjects in this study were 45 subjects. The population used in this study were all PPLP North Sumatra pencak silat athletes. The measuring instrument used in this study is the scale of social support and self-confidence scale. The data analysis technique used in this study is Product Moment Correlation. The conclusion of the hypothesis is that there is a positive relationship between social support and the confidence of PPLP North Sumatra pencak silat athletes. The higher the social support, the higher the self-confidence, conversely the lower the social support, the lower the self-confidence. This is indicated by the value of r = 0.452 with sig. 0, 667; (p <0.05). The level of social support for subjects is high, this is shown by the empirical average of 131.22 while the hypothetical average is 100. The confidence in the subject is high, this is indicated by the empirical average of 122.42 while the hypothetical average is 95. The effective contribution (SE) of social support by 20,4%. This shows that there are still 79,6% of other variables that can affect confidence outside the social support variable.
