Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Dengan Penyesuaian Sosial Remaja Tunarungu di Sekolah Luar Biasa Taman Pendidikan Islam

Abstract

This study was aimed to identify the relationship between family support and social adjustment among deaf adolescents in Islamic special eucation school. This study used quantitative research method. The subject on this study were the adolescents who studied in Islamic special eucation school in the range age between 12-15 years old. Sampling technique used in this study was total sampling. The sample used in this study consisted of 30 deaf students who studied in Islamic special eucation school. In line with the discussion in the theoretical basis, the hypothesis proposed in this study was there is a relationship between family support and social adjustment, with assumption, the higher the family support, the better the social adjustment. On the contrary, the lower the family support, the worse the social adjusment. The data in this study is gathered using the scales of Family support and Social Adjustment. This study used the correlation method (𝑟𝑥𝑦) and found that the r had been equal to 0,849 and the p value had been 0,000< 0,05 which means the higher the family support given, the better the social adjustment will be. On the contrary, the lower the family support given, the worse the social adjustment will be. This finding showed that the hypothesis proposed that there is a relationship between family support and social adjustment among deaf adolescents has been accepted.
