Faktor-Faktor Interaksi Sosial Pada Mahasiswa Teknik di Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors of social interaction in engineering students at the University of Medan Area. Social interaction is a relationship between two or more human individuals, where one individual's behavior influences, changes, or improves the behavior of another individual or vice versa, where there are 4 factors determined according to Gerungan (2004), namely imitation, suggestion, identification and sympathy. The sample in this study were 82 students of the 2017 stambuk engineering faculty at the Medan Area University. The sampling technique uses random sampling. Data collection techniques through social interaction scale through Likert scale. Based on the data analysis method used is descriptive analysis using the formula F percent. Based on the data analysis method, the calculation of the factors that have the highest contribution from this research is the suggestion factor of 30.51%, the second factor is Sympathy of 26.57%, the third factor is a maximum imitation of 25.60%, the last factor is Identification of 18.27%. The high suggestion factor for engineering students is because it is easy to accept the perspective of others without criticizing first and the lowest factor is identification where engineering students do not like to imitate people who are idolized almost entirely but only limited to like or be amazed.
