Abstract: Menurut Gary Dessler ( Dessler, 2003:2): "Human Resource Management is the policies and practies involved in carryin g out the "people" or human resource aspects of a management position, including recruiting, screening, training, rewarding, and appraising." (artinya manajemen SDM adalah kebijakan dan cara-cara yang dipraktekan dan berhubungan dengan pemberdayaan manusia atau aspek-aspek SDM dari sebuah posisi manaj emen termasuk perekrutan, seleksi, pelatihan, penghargaan dan penilaian Di samping itu, menurut T.Hani Handoko (Handoko, 1 995 :4): " Manajemen sumber daya manusia adalah penarikan, seleksi, pengembangan, pemeliharaan, dan penggunaan sumber daya manusia untuk mencapai baik tttjuan-tuj uan individu maupun organisasi." According to Gary Dessler (Dessler, 2003: 2): "Human Resource Management is the policies and practices involved in carrying out the" people "or human resource aspects of a management position, including recruiting, screening, training, rewarding, and appraising. " (This means that HR management is a policy and methods that are practiced and related to human empowerment or HR aspects of a management position including recruitment, selection, training, awards and assessments. In addition, according to T. Hani Handoko (Handoko, 1 995: 4): "Human resource management is the drawing, selection, development, maintenance, and use of human resources to achieve both individual and organizational goals."
