Perbedaan Kematangan Emosi Ditinjau dari Jenis Kelamin pada Remaja di SMA Swasta Sinar Husni Medan

Abstract

Emotional maturity is the ability of a person in controlling and controlling his emotions, but with emotional maturity then individuals can act appropriately and reasonably in accordance with the situation and conditions. This study aims to see the difference in emotional maturity of gender in adolescents in SMA Swasta Sinar Husni Medan. Assuming that male emotional maturity is higher than women. The subject of this research is adolescents in SMA Swasta Sinar Husni Medan. This research is based on the Likert scale method which consists of aspects of emotional maturity. Data analysis technique used in this research use T-Test analysis with t = 16.737 and coefisisen significant 0,000 <0,050. Based on the result of data analysis, there are differences in emotional maturity of adolescent boys and girls where, the maturity of adolescent girl is in the low category, since the hypothetical mean 110 is greater than the empirical mean (97.08), where the difference exceeds the SD (11.211) . While the emotional maturity of adolescent boys is in the high category, because the hypothetical mean 110 is smaller than the empirical mean (128.62), where the difference exceeds the value of SD (12.593). This means the phenomenon seen by the researchers in accordance with the data obtained during the conduct of research, where from this study note that the emotional maturity of adolescent boys expressed high. This means that the proposed hypothesis reads that there is a difference in emotional maturity of gender in adolescents with the assumption of more mature boys emotions than adolescent girls accepted.
