Hubungan Pemberian Punishment Orang Tua dengan Perilaku Agresif Remaja di Desa Pekebuan Tanjung Pura

Abstract

Aggressive behavior is an act of attacking with physical violence and verbal unacceptable social behaviors associated with violation of social norms. the hypothesis of this study is there is a relationship between the giving punishment with aggressive behavior in adolescents. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the giving punishment with aggressive behavior of teenagers in the village Pekebuan. This research is a correlational study using quantitative methods. Methods of data collection using the scale of punishment with the scale of aggressive behavior. The study subjects were 60 teenagers in the village Pekebuan, sampling technique research use random percentage. The scale of punishment compiled by researchers with the Likert scale and the scale of aggressive behavior are also compiled by researchers with the scale of semantic differential. Reliability test results of the scale of punishment amounted to 0.926 and for aggressive behavior amounted to 0.941. Data analysis using product moment correlation and assisted by SPSS 16.00 for windows. From the results of this study concluded that the initial test proven that there is a relationship between the giving punishment with aggressive behavior in adolescents in the village Pekebuan, evidenced by coefficient rxy = 0.252; p = 0.026 means p <0.050. It means the better punishment, the lower the aggressive behavior in adolescents. Based on the results of research conducted with teenagers in the village Pekebuan, then the hypothesis is accepted. Based determinant (r2) of the above relationship is equal to 0.063. This shows that the giving of punishment affect aggressive behavior of teenagers by 6.3% to 93.7% remaining aggressive behavior is influenced by other factors such as parenting, relationships with peers, biological factors and environmental factors, which are not examined in the study
