dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kompos kulit durian terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schard.) dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik cair (POC) air beras terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schard.), yang dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area (UMA), yang berlokasi di Jalan Kolam No.1 Medan Estate Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, dengan ketinggian 22 meter di atas permukaan laut (m dpl), topografi datar, jenis tanah Alluvial dan pH 6,12. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai dari bulan Februari hingga bulan April 2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan dua faktor perlakuan, yaitu : 1) Faktor perlakuan kompos kulit durian (K) yang terdiri dari 4 taraf, yaitu : K0 = Tanpa perlakuan (kontrol); K1 = 10 ton/Ha (1,75 kg/plot setara dengan 1 kg/m2); K2 = 15 ton/Ha (2,63 kg/plot setara dengan 1,5 kg/m2); K3 = 20 ton/Ha (3,50 kg/plot setara dengan 2 kg/m2), dan 2) Faktor perlakuan pupuk organik cair air beras (P) yang terdiri atas 4 taraf, yaitu : P0 = tanpa perlakuan (kontrol); P1 = 25% dari jumlah air yang digunakan; P2 = 50% dari jumlah air yang digunakan; P3 = 75% dari jumlah air yang digunakan, masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 2 (dua) kali. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini, yakni : panjang tanaman (cm), umur berbunga (hari), jumlah buah per sampel (buah), diameter buah per sampel (cm), bobot buah per sampel (kg), bobot buah per plot (kg) dan berat akar per sampel (g). Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, yakni : 1) Pemberian kompos kulit durian berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang tanaman, jumlah buah per sampel, bobot buah per sampel dan bobot buah per plot, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap umur berbunga, diameter buah per sampel dan berat akar per sampel tanaman semangka; 2) Pemberian POC air beras berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka; dan 3) Kombinasi antara pemberian kompos kulit durian dan POC air beras berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman semangka. This study aims to determine the effect of giving durian peel compost on the growth and production of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris Schard.) and to determine the effect of using liquid organic fertilizer (POC) rice water on the growth and production of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris Schard.) plants, which are implemented in the garden. Experiment Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area (UMA), which is located at Jalan Kolam No.1 Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan District, with a height of 22 meters above sea level (m asl), flat topgraphy, Alluvial soil type and pH 6.12. This research was conducted from February to April 2020. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two treatment factors, namely: 1) The durian skin compost treatment factor (K) which consisted of 4 levels, namely: K0 = no treatment (control); K1 = 10 tonnes / Ha (1.75 kg / plot equivalent to 1 kg / m2); K2 = 15 ton / Ha (2.63 kg / plot equivalent to 1.5 kg / m2); K3 = 20 tonnes / Ha (3.50 kg / plot equivalent to 2 kg / m2), and 2) The rice water liquid organic fertilizer (P) treatment factor which consists of 4 levels, namely: P0 = no treatment (control); P1 = 25% of the amount of water used; P2 = 50% of the amount of water used; P3 = 75% of the amount of water used, each treatment was repeated 2 (two) times. The parameters observed in this study were plant length (cm), flowering age (days), number of fruits per sample (fruit), fruit diameter per sample (cm), fruit weight per sample (kg), fruit weight per plot ( kg) and root weight per sample (g). The results obtained from this study were: 1) Application of durian peel compost had a significant effect on plant length, number of fruit per sample, fruit weight per sample and fruit weight per plot, but had no significant effect on flowering age, fruit diameter per sample and weight. roots per plant sample of watermelon seeds; 2) The provision of POC rice water had no significant effect on the growth and production of watermelon seeds; and 3) The combination of durian peel compost and rice water POC had no significant effect on the growth and production of watermelon.en_US
