dc.description.abstractThe research was conducted at the Gatot Subroto-Iskandar Muda intersection and the Gajah Mada-Iskandar Muda intersection in Medan city because these intersections have a fairly large level of density and crowd. In connection with this, it is necessary to conduct research using the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual standard. This study aims to analyze the queue length that occurs at the intersection. The analysis and simulation calculations applied in this study used the 1997 MKJI method. The primary data taken in this study were road geometry, environmental conditions, parking distances, traffic volume, and signal usage. While the secondary data needed is data on the population of the city of Medan. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of the degree of saturation (DS) of the intersection is 0.74 and the vehicle delay is 38.75 seconds. In accordance with the DS value and the delay value, the performance of the Iskandar muda and Gajah mada intersection is in category (Level Of Service) D where the traffic flow is less stable and sometimes causes congestion. Penelitian dilakukan di simpang Gatot Subroto-Iskandar Muda dan simpang Gajah Mada-Iskandar Muda kota Medan karena pada simpang tersebut mempunyai tingkat kepadatan dan keramaian yang cukup besar. Sehubungan dengan hal itu maka perlu di lakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan standar Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia 1997. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis panjang antrian yang terjadi pada simpang tersebut. Perhitungan analisis dan simulasi yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode MKJI 1997. Data primer yang diambil dalam penelitian berupa geometrik jalan, kondisi lingkungan, jarak parkir, volume lalu lintas, dan penggunaan sinyal. Sedangkan data sekunder yang dibutuhkan adalah data jumlah penduduk Kota Medan. Berdasarkan hasil analisa data, maka didapatkan nilai derajat kejenuhan (DS) simpang sebesar 0,74 dan tundaan kendaraan sebesar 38,75 detik. Sesuai dengan nilai DS dan nilai tundaan maka kinerja simpang Jalan Iskandar mudan dan simpang jalan Gajah mada medan berada pada kategori (Level Of Service) D dimana arus lalu lintasnya kurang stabil dan kadang sering menyebabkan kemacetan.en_US
