This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and selfacceptance of mothers who have children with leukemia in a halfway house with YOAM. Social support is the support that a person gives to others both verbally and nonverbally. Self-acceptance is a condition in which a person is able to understand the strengths and weaknesses that exist within him. The type of research used is quantitative correlation with purposive sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 30 mothers with criteria who had children with ALL type of leukemia aged 2-12 years and had been diagnosed with leukemia in the first year. Data were collected using two scales, namely the social support scale and the self-acceptance scale. The results of data analysis using the product moment with a correlation value (rxy) of 0.766 with P (sig) = 0.000 <0.05. Based on the results of the product moment calculation, there is a relationship between social support and self-acceptance, meaning that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. Maternal social support is classified as high as indicated by the hypothetical mean of 65 < empirical mean of 77.50, and maternal self-acceptance is also classified as high as indicated by the hypothetical mean of 62.5 < empirical mean of 84.20. The determinant coefficient of the correlation is r2 = 0.587, with a contribution weight of 58.7% and there are still 41.3% of other factors that influence outside this study. |
