This study aims to determine the differences in consumptive behavior of psychology students who live in boarding houses and in their parents' homes. Consumptive behavior is the behavior of buying goods excessively without rational considerations in order to fulfill pleasure and satisfaction alone. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a difference between the consumptive behavior of psychology students who live in a boarding house and at their parents' house. The type of research used is quantitative research, with data collection techniques using a Likert scale model. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 126 people. Analysis of the research data using the T-Test Separated Variance. Based on the test data of the consumptive behavior scale in this study, it shows that of the number of items tested were 60 items and there were 55 items that met the rix discrimination index> 0.3. After the trial, 5 items were declared invalid, namely items number 1, 27, 34, 39 and 54. And all other valid items had a Corrected Item-Total Correlation score (rxy differences power index)> 0.3; with a Cronbach Alpha reliability score (constraints) of 0.955. Which means that the scale of consumptive behavior is classified as reliable. The results of the calculation of the Hypothetic Mean of female students who live in boarding houses are 137.5 and the Empirical Mean is 157.65 which are in the high category and the calculation of the Hypothetic Mean of street children is 137.5 and the Empirical Mean is 147.16 which is in the category known to be moderate. Based on these results, the research hypothesis is accepted.
