Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan orang tua dengan kemandirian belajar pada siswa di SMA Negeri 7 Medan. Kemandirian belajar merupakan proses setiap individu dapat mengambil inisiatif secara mandiri dengan tanpa bantuan orang lain, dapat mendiagnosis kebutuhan belajarnya sendiri. Tipe penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasi. Teknik sampelnya adalah teknik probability sampling dengan metode simpel random sampling dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Sampel 55 siswa diambil dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan skala, yaitu skala dukungan orang tua dan skala kemandirian belajar dengan model skala likert. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian menggunakan teknik korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka terdapat hubungan antara dukungan orang tua dengan kemandirian belajar yang signifikan, dimana nilai koefision (rxy) = 0,623; p = 0.000 < 0,05; koefision determinan (r2) = 0,388; ini menunjukan bahwa dukungan orangtua berkontribusi terhadap kemandirian belajar sebesar 38.8%. Sedangkan hasil hipotetik dan empirik dukungan orang tua (hipotetik 160 < empiric = 247,65), dan untuk kemandirian belajar tergolong tinggi (hipotetik = 130 < empirik = 193,29). Maka hipotesis penelitian ini dinyatakan diterima. This study aims to determine the correlation between parental support and self-directed learning in students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan. Self-directed learning is the process of each individual can take the initiative independently without the help of others, can diagnose his own learning needs. This type of research is quantitative correlation. The sample technique is a probability sampling technique with a simple random sampling method using the formula Slovin. A sample of 55 students was taken using the formula Slovin. The data on this study uses a scale, namely the parental support scale and the self-directed learning scale with the likert scale model. The data analysis technique in the study uses Pearson's Product Moment correlation technique. Based on the results of the study, there is a correlation between parental support and significant self-directed learning, where the value of coefision (rxy)= 0.623; p = 0,000 < 0.05; determinant coefision (r2)= 0.388; this indicates that parental support contributes to self-directed learning by 38.8%. While the results of hypocrisy and empirical parental support (160 < empiric hypothesis = 247.65), and for self-directed learning is relatively high (hypothic = 130 < empirical = 193.29). The hypothesis of this study was accepted.
