Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Menganalisa hasil kinerja mesin ripple mill di Stasiun Pengolahan Biji Pabrik Kelapa Sawit dan Menganalisa faktor – faktor yang mengakibatkan kinerja mesin ripple mill tidak terpenuhi. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 ukuran biji kelapa sawit dengan 3 ulangan untuk setiap perlakuan. Biji kelapa sawit yang digunakan berukuran kecil, sedang, dan besar, dengan menggunakan 3 jarak clearance yaitu 0,01 m, 0,012 m, dan 0,14 m. Penelitian ini menggunakan 6 parameter pengamatan yaitu pecah cangkang < 50%, pecah cangkang> 50%, lepas kernel utuh, pecah kernel, kernel tergores, dan biji lolos. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1) parameter lepas kernel < 50% untuk ukuran biji kecil yaitu 56,67%, sedang 23,33%, dan besar 36,67%. Lepas kernel > 50% untuk ukuran biji kecil yaitu 73,33%, sedang 33,33%, dan besar 43,33%; 2) Lepas kernel utuh untuk ukuran biji kecil yaitu sebesar 63,33%, sedang 76,67%, dan besar 36,67%; 3) Pecah dan retak kernel untuk ukuran biji kecil yaitu 86,67%, sedang 63,33%, dan besar 33,33%; 4) Kernel tergores untuk ukuran biji kecil yaitu 83,33%, sedang 66,67%, dan besar 26,67%; 5) Biji lolos untuk ukuran kecil yaitu 3,33%, sedang 26,67%, dan besar 13,33%; 6) konsumsi daya listrik pada ukuran biji sebesar 223,87 ml/1000 – 371,77 ml/1000 biji; dan 7) Ripple mill memiliki nilai rata – rata efisiensi sebesar 97,56% dan faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi efisiensi pemecahan adalah (a) Kualitas dan kuantitas biji; (b) Kondisi ripple plate dan rotor bar; (c) Jarak antara plate dan rotor bar; dan (d) Kecepatan putaran ripple mill. This study aims to analyze the performance results of the ripple mill machine at the Palm Oil Mill Processing Station and to analyze the factors that cause the performance of the ripple mill machine not to be fulfilled. This study used 3 sizes of oil palm seeds with 3 replications for each treatment. Oil palm seeds used are small, medium, and large, using 3 clearance distances, namely 0,01 m, 0,12 m, and 0,14 m. This study used 6 observation parameters, namely shell break <50%, shell break> 50%, loose kernel intact, kernel cracked, kernel scratched, and seeds escaped. The results showed that 1) kernel release parameters <50% for small seed sizes, namely 56.67%, medium 23.33%, and large 36.67%. Remove the kernels> 50% for small seed sizes, namely 73.33%, medium 33.33%, and large seeds 43.33%; 2) Removing whole kernels for small seed sizes, namely 63.33%, 76.67% medium, and 36.67% large; 3) Cracked and cracked kernels for small seed sizes, namely 86.67%, medium 63.33%, and large seeds 33.33%; 4) The scratched kernels for small seed sizes were 83.33%, 66.67% medium, and 26.67% large; 5) Seeds passed for small size, namely 3.33%, 26.67% medium, and large 13.33%; 6) the consumption of electric power at seed size is 223.87 ml / 1000 - 371.77 ml / 1000 seeds; and 7) Ripple mill has an average efficiency value of 97.56% and the factors that affect the efficiency of breaking are (a) the quality and quantity of seeds; (b) The condition of the ripple plate and rotor bar; (c) The distance between the plate and the rotor bar; and (d) The rotation speed of the ripple mill. |
