Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua otoriter dengan kepercayaan diri siswa/i SMP Swasta Terpadu Darussaadah Kecamatan Bener Kelipah. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa/i kelas VII,VIII,IX sebanyak 130 siswa/i. Sedangkan sampel penelitian ini sebanyak sebanyak 63 siswa/i SMP Swasta Terpadu Draussaadah Kecamatan Bener Kelipah. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling. Skala dalam penelitian ini adalah skala pola asuh otoriter yang disusun dari ciri-ciri pola asuh otoriter menurut Santrock (2002) yaitu : Kontrol anak bersifat kaku, Hukuman yang diberikan tanpa alasan dan jarang memberikan alasan. Tidak ada komunikasi timbal balik, Disiplin yang diterapkan tidak dapat dirundingkan dan tidak ada penjelasan. Skala dalam penelitian ini adalah skala kepercayaan diri yang disusun dari aspek kepercayaan diri menurut Kumara (dalam Yulianto, 2010) yaitu : Kemampuan menghadapi masalah, Bertanggung jawab, Kemampuan dalam bergaul, Kemampuan menerima kritik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan metode analisis korelasi r Product Moment, diketahui bahwa ada hubungan negative antara pola asuh otoriter dengan kepercayaan diri, dimana rxy = -0,432 dengan nilai p=0,000 yang berarti nilai p lebih kecil dari 0,05 (p<0,05). Artinya hipotesis yang diajukan diterima. Diasumsikan semakin rendah pola asuh otoriternya maka semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri siswa, ataupun sebaliknya semakin tinggi pola asuh otoriternya semakin rendah kepercayaan diri siswa tersebut. Koefisien determinan (r2) darii hubungan antara variabel bebas X dengan variabel Y adalah sebesar r2 = 0,186. Ini menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh otoriter berkontribusi terhadap kepercayaan diri sebesar 18,6%. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai rata-rata hipotetik dan empirik dapat disimpulkan juga bahwa pola asuh otoriter tergolong tinggi dengan nilai mean hipotetik 80 dan nilai mean empirik 88,27. Selanjutnya dapat disimpulkan juga bahwa kepercayaan diri tergolong sedang dengan nilai hipotetik sebesar 80 dan nilai empirik sebesar 77,27. This study aims to find out the relationship between the authoritative parenting style with students’ confidence of Darussaadah in Integrated Private Junior High School, Bener Kelipah District. The population in this study was all students of class VII, VIII, IX as many as 130 students. However, the sample of this study only took 63 students of the Draussaadah in Integrated Private Junior High School, Bener Kelipah District. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique. This study scale of authoritative parenting is composed by the characteristics of authoritarian parenting according to Santrock (2002), namely: Control of children is awkward. Punishments are given without reason and rarely give reasons. There is no mutual communication, the discipline applied is non-negotiable and there is no explanation. Moreover, the scale of confidence in this study is composed by self-confidence aspects in line with Kumara (in Yulianto, 2010), namely: Ability to deal with problems, to be responsible, to be able to get along, to accept criticism. Based on the results of the analysis using the Product Moment r correlation analysis method, it is known that there is a negative relationship between authoritative parenting style and students’ confidence, where rxy = - 0.432 with value p = 0.000 which means p value is less than 0.05 (p <0.05 ). This means that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. It is assumed that the lower the authoritative parenting style, the higher the student's self-confidence, and also vice versa, the higher the authoritative parenting style, the lower the students’ confidence. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between the independent variable X and Y is r2 = 0.186. This showed that the authoritative parenting style contributes to self-confidence by 18.6%. Based on the results of the calculation of the hypothetical and empirical mean values, it can be assumed that the authoritative parenting style is advanced with a hypothetical mean value of 80 and an empirical mean value of 88.27. Furthermore, it can be concluded that confidence is classified as moderate with a hypothetical value of 80 and an empirical value of 77.27.
