dc.description.abstractMemposting foto selfie sudah menjadi tren popular di kalangan remaja di banyak negara. Meskipun memposting foto selfie memberikan kesempatan bagi individu untuk meningkatkan pengungkapan diri. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi memposting foto selfie yaitu narsisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara narsisme dengan intensitas memposting foto selfie di instagram pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 90 orang mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi stambuk 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala narsisme dan skala intensitas memposting foto selfie Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala likert. Untuk menguji hipotesis yang diajukan, maka digunakan teknik Korelasi Product Moment. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang dilakukan maka, diperoleh hasil bahwa ada hubungan positif antara narsisme dengan intensitas memposting foto selfie di instagram pada mahasiswa hasil ini diketahui dengan melihat nilai korelasi antara variabel X dan variabel Y dimana rxy = 0,378 dengan p (sign) = 0,000<0,05. Artinya hipotesis yang diajukan dapat dinyatakan diterima. Posting selfies has become a popular trend among teenagers in many countries. Although posting selfie provides an opportunity for individuals to increase self-disclosure. One of the factors that influence selfie posting is narcissism.This research aimed to see the correlation of narcissism with intensity of posting selfie photo on Instagram in students of Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. The sample of this research was 90 students of Faculty of Psychology This research used a narcissism scale and the intensity scale of posting selfie photo. Data collection used was Likert scale. To examine the proposed hypothesis, the researcher used product moment correlation technique. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, the results showed that there was a positive relationship between narcissism and the intensity of posting selfie photo on Instagram for students. This result was known by looking at the correlation value between variable X and variable Y where rxy = 0.378 with p (sign) = 0.000 <0.05. it means that the proposed hypothesis can be declared accepted.en_US
