dc.description.abstract | Telah banyak dilakukan penelitian terhadap kinerja perkerasan campuran beton aspal seperti penambahan plastik dengan mensubtitusi ataupun mengganti suatu campuran yang ada didalamnya. Salah satu jenis polimer yang digunakan adalah polystyrene yang sering kita kenal sebagai styrofoam, yang selama ini sering digunakan sebagai kemasan bahan elektronik, pembungkus makanan. Digunakannya styrofoam ini agar mutu campuran yang dihasilkan baik atau bahkan sejalan dengan spesifikasi yang digunakan . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan styrofoam terhadap karakteristik campuran AC-WC. Lokasi penelitian tepatnya berada di Laboratorium Perkerasan Universitas Medan Area. Styrofoam yang digunakan pada penelitian ini bervariasi dengan kadar 0%, 4%, 6%, dan 8% dari berat aspal. Benda uji penelitian berjumlah 16 buah, terdiri dari 10 benda uji untuk pengujian Marshall sebelum Kadar Aspal Optimum (KAO) yang dihitung nilai Pbnya terlebih dahulu dan 8 benda uji setelah KAO. Untuk dapat mengetahui apakah Styrofoam ini dapat membuat mutu campuran baik atau tidak maka dilakukan Marshall Test. Pedoman yang digunakan bedasarkan Spesifikasi Umum Bidang Jalan dan Jembatan, Departemen Pekerjaan Umum 2010 Revisi 6 Divisi 3. Adanya penambahan styrofoam dengan variasi kadar 4%,6% dan 8% dari berat aspal menunjukkan adanya mampu meningkatkan kinerja campuran aspal dalam menerima beban berulang akibat repetisi ban dan meningkatkan ketahanan terhadap retak.Many studies have been carried out on the performance of asphalt concrete mix pavement such as the addition of plastic by substituting or replacing a mixture that is in it. One type of polymer used is polystyrene which we often know as styrofoam, which has been used for electronic packaging and food packaging. Styrofoam is used so that the quality of the resulting mixture is good or even in line with the specifications used. This study aims to determine the effect of adding styrofoam on the characteristics of the AC-WC mixture. The location of the research is precisely at the Pavement Laboratory of the University of Medan Area. Styrofoam used in this study varied with levels of 0%, 4%, 6%, and 8% by weight of asphalt. There were 16 specimens of research, consisting of 10 specimens for Marshall testing before the Optimal Asphalt Level (KAO) which the Pb value was calculated first and 8 specimens after KAO. To be able to find out whether Styrofoam can make a good quality mixture or not, a Marshall Test is carried out. The guidelines used are based on the General Specifications for Roads and Bridges, Ministry of Public Works 2010 Revision 6 Division 3.The addition of styrofoam with variations in levels of 4%, 6% and 8% of the weight of asphalt indicates that it is able to improve the performance of the asphalt mixture in receiving repeated loads due to repetition. tires and increases resistance to cracking. | en_US |
