Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan pola asuh demokratis terhadap perilaku asertif dan perbedaan perilaku asertif siswa laki-laki dan perempuan pada remaja kelas XI SMK PAB 8 Sampali. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMK PAB 8 Sampali yang pola asuh orang tuanya demokratis yang berjumlah 80 orang dengan jumlah sampel 80 orang, 40 laki-laki dan 40 perempuan. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik total sampling dengan melakukan screening test. Kedua skala ini disusun menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan ada hubungan positif antara pola asuh demokratis dengan perilaku asertif (rxy =0,740 dan r2 =0,547 dengan p =0,000 berarti p < 0,05. Dengan r2=0,547 artinya perilaku asertif dibentuk oleh pola asuh demokratis sebesar 54,7%) ini berarti hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima dan terdapat perbedaan perilaku asertif antara siswa laki-laki dengan perempuan (t = 4,273 dengan p = 0,000 berarti p< 0,05) siswa laki-laki lebih asertif (mean hipotetik (75) mean empirik (86,33) kategori tinggi) dibandingkan siswa perempuan (mean hipotetik (75) mean empirik (75,13) kategori sedang) ini berarti hipotesis untuk perbedaan perilaku asertif ditinjau dari jenis kelamin diterima. This study aims to see the relationship of democratic parenting to assertive behavior and differences in assertive behavior of male and female students in class XI adolescents of SMK PAB 8 Sampali. The population in this study were students of class XI SMK PAB 8 Sampali whose parenting styles were democratic, totaling 80 people with a sample size of 80 people, 40 boys and 40 girls. Sampling in this study with a total sampling technique by conducting a screening test. Both of these scales are arranged using the Likert scale. The results of the study concluded that there was a positive relationship between democratic parenting and assertive behavior (rxy = 0.740 and r2 = 0.547 where p = 0.000 means p <0.05. With r2 = 0.547 it means that assertive behavior is formed by democratic parenting at 54.7%) This means that the hypothesis in this study is accepted and there are differences in assertive behavior between male and female students (t = 4.273 with p = 0.000 means p <0.05) male students are more assertive (hypothetical mean (75) empirical mean (86) , 33) high category) compared to female students (hypothetical mean (75) empirical mean (75.13) moderate category) this means that the hypothesis for differences in assertive behavior in terms of gender is accepted.
