Hubungan Body Image Dengan Kepercayaan Diri Homoseksual Di Kecamatan Medan Helvetia

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan body image dengan kepercayaan diri pada homoseksual di Kecamatan Medan Helvetia. Seorang homoseksual memiliki peran yang ia perankan dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari, seorang homoseksual dapat berperan sebagai seorang bottom atau seorang top. Dalam memerankan peran tersebut seorang homoseksual membutuhkan kepercayaan diri agar mampu memerankan perannya yang akan dipergunakan dalam hal sosial maupun dalam mencari pasangan. dalam hal ini kepercayaan diri dipengaruhi beberapa faktor salah satunya body image. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik snowball sampling. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah kaum homoseksual yang berada pada kawasan Kecamatan Medan Helvetia yang didapati sebanyak 40 orang. Total sampling digunakan untuk menentukan jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini. Pengambilan data menggunakan skala body image dan skala kepercayaan diri. Hasil uji validasi menunjukan Cronbach Alpha skala body image sebesar 0,928 dan skala kepercayaan diri sebesar 0,861. Uji korelasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara variabel body image dan kepercayaan diri dengan menggunakan perhitungan korelasi Product Moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa adanya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara body image dan kepercayaan diri pada kaum homoseksual di Kecamatan Medan Helvetia. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan korelasi Product Moment, didapati rxy = 0,845 dengan signifikasi P = 0.000 sehingga hipotesis yang diajukan dimana semakin positif body image maka semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri, begitu pula sebaliknya semakin negatif body image maka semakin rendah kepercayaan diri dinyatakan diterima. Sumbangan efektif dari body image yang mempengaruhi kepercayaan diri adalah sebesar 71,4%. This study aims to find out the relationship of body image with confidence in homosexuals in Medan Helvetia Subdistrict. A homosexual has a role that he plays in his daily life, a homosexual can act as a bottom or a top. In playing the role a homosexual needs confidence in order to be able to play his role that will be used in social matters and in finding a partner. In this case, self-confidence is influenced by several factors, one of which is body image. This research is a quantitative study with snowball sampling techniques. The population in this study was homosexuals who were in the Medan Helvetia Subdistrict area which was found as many as 40 people. Total sampling was used to determine the number of subjects in the study. Data capture uses body image scale and confidence scale. Validation test results showed the Cronbach Alpha body image scale of 0.928 and the confidence scale at 0.861. Correlation tests are conducted to find out the relationship between body image variables and self-confidence by using product moment correlation calculations. The results of this study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between body image and confidence in homosexuals in Medan Helvetia District. Based on the results of the Product Moment correlation calculation, found rxy = 0.845 with signification P = 0,000 so that the hypothesis proposed where the more positive the body image the higher the confidence, and vice versa the more negative the body image the lower the confidence is expressed accepted. The effective contribution of body image that affects self-confidence is 71.4%.
