dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh isu penerapan wacana wisata halal di Danau Toba yang menimbulkan polemik di tengah-tengah masyarakat Kota Medan khususnya di Kecamatan Medan Marelan. Wacana wisata halal ini menjadi pemberitaan di berbabagi media massa dan menjadi topik hangat. Pemberitaan wacana wisata halal ini juga sering dikaitkan dengan Gubernur Sumut saat ini yakni Purn Letnan Jendral H. Edy Rahmayadi periode 2018-2023 sebagai penggagas wacana tersebut. Hal ini tentu menjadi perhatian publik dan menarik perhatian masyarakat untuk memunculkan opini-opini. Wacana ini juga menimbulkan pro dan kontra di masyarakat, dimana ada yang berpendapat setuju dan tidak setuju tentang wacana wisata halal di Danau Toba. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana opini publik pada Masyarakat Kelurahan Tanah Enam Ratus Kecamatan Medan Marelan tentang wacana wisata halal Danau Toba di media massa tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan penyajian bentuk tabel tunggal. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuisioner/angket. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 17.380 orang dan yang menjadi sampel sebanyak 99 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 62% masyarakat Kelurahan Tanah Enam Ratus setuju terhadap wacana wisata halal di Danau Toba. This research was motivated by the issue of implementing the discourse on halal tourism in Lake Toba which caused a polemic in the midst of the people of Medan City, especially in Medan Marelan District. The discourse on halal tourism has become news in various mass media and has become a hot topic. The news about halal tourism is also often associated with the current Governor of North Sumatra, namely Purn Lieutenant General H. Edy Rahmayadi for the 2018-2023 period as the initiator of the discourse. This is of course a public concern and attracts public attention to raise opinions. This discourse also raises pros and cons in the community, where there are those who agree and disagree about the discourse on halal tourism on Lake Toba. The purpose of this research is to find out how the public opinion in the community of Tanah Six Ratus Village, Medan Marelan District about the discourse of halal tourism in Lake Toba in the mass media. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach, with a single table form presentation. The data collection technique is done by distributing questionnaires / questionnaires. The study population was 17,380 people and the sample was 99 people. The results showed that 62% of the people of Tanah Six Ratus Village agreed with the discourse of halal tourism on Lake Toba.en_US
