Abstract: Penggunaan tegangan tinggi akan menimbulkan beberapa persoalan baru disamping keuntungan yang ada, salah satu diantara persoalan tersebut adalah korona. Korona terjadi akibat ionisasi dalam udara yaitu bila gradien tegangan dipermukaan penghantar melebihi breakdown strengt (kekuatan bertahan) dimana tempat lain belum terjadi. Selain menimbulkan bunyi desis berwarna biru juga menyebabkan radio interference (gangguan radio) ozon dan rugi daya. Pada saluran transmisi udara EHV (Extra High Voltage) dan UHV (Ultra High Voltage) Penghantar yang sering dipakai adalah jenis ACSR karena dapat mengurangi gejala korona mempunyai kapasitansi yang lebih besar dan lebih kecil. The use of high voltage will cause several new problems in addition to the existing advantages, one of these problems is the corona. Corona occurs due to ionization in the air when the voltage gradient on the surface of the conductor exceeds the breakdown strength where it has not occurred elsewhere. In addition to causing a blue hiss sound, it also causes radio interference (radio interference) ozone and power loss. In air transmission lines EHV (Extra High Voltage) and UHV (Ultra High Voltage) the conductor that is often used is the ACSR type because it can reduce corona symptoms and has a larger and smaller capacitance.
