Hubungan antara Adversity Quotient dengan Motif Berprestasi pada Mahasiswa Asal Kota Sibolga yang Sedang Kuliah di Kota Medan

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan skala adversity quotient yang terdiri dari empat aspek yaitu control (kendali diri), ownership dan origin (asal usul dan pengakuan), reach (jangkauan), endurance (daya tahan). Penelitian ini juga menggunakan skala motif berprestasi yang terdiri dari lima aspek yaitu bertanggung jawab dan kurang suka mendapat bantuan dari orang lain, mencapai prestasi dengan sebaik-baiknya, memperhitungkan kemampuan diri dengan resiko sedang, ingin hasil konkrit dari usahanya, tidak senang membuang-buang waktu serta ulet dan gigih, memiliki antisipasi yang berorientasi ke depan. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 50 orang. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah korelasi product moment, diketahui bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara adversity quotient dengan motif berprestasi dimana rxy = 0,47, p < 0,10. Artinya semakin positif adversity quotient pada mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula motif berprestasinya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima, bahwa ada hubungan positif antara adversity quotient dengan motif berprestasi pada mahasiswa asal kota Sibolga yang sedang kuliah di kota Medan. Hasil akhir yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yakni, adversity quotient dengan motif berprestasi tergolong positif, dimana nilai rata-rata empirik sebesar 129,12 sedangkan nilai hipotetiknya adalah 100, dimana sesuai dengan ketentuan jika nilai rata-rata empirik lebih besar dari nilai rata-rata hipotetik maka dapat dikategorikan positif. Demikian juga halnya dengan motif berprestasi yang tergolong tinggi, sebab nilai rata-rata empirik 168,76 dan hipotetik 135. Adapun koefisien determinan (r2) = 0, 225 artinya bahwa motif berprestasi dipengaruhi oleh adversity quotient sebesar 22,5%. This study uses the adversity quotient scale which consists of four aspects namely control (self-control), ownership and origin (origin and recognition), reach endurance (endurance). This study also uses the achievement motive scale which consists of five aspects, namely being responsible and not liking to get help from other people, achieve the best possible performance, taking into account abilities yourself at risk medium, want concrete results from his efforts, not happy to waste time as well as tenacious and persistent, have forward-looking anticipation. Number of samples in this research totaling 50 people. The analysis technique used is product moment correlation, noted that there is a very significant positive relationship between adversity quotient with motive achievement where rxy = 0.47, p < 0.10. It means the more positive the adversity quote on students, the higher the achievement motive. It shows that the hypothesis is accepted, that there is a positive relationship between adversity quotient with motive achievement in students from the city of Sibolga who are studying in the city of Medan. The final result obtained from this research is the adversity quotient with the motive achievement is classified as positive, where the empirical average value is 129.12 while the the hypothetical is 100, which is in accordance with the provisions if the empirical mean value is greater from the hypothetical average value, it can be categorized as positive. Likewise with achievement motive which is classified as high, because the empirical average value is 168.76 and the hypothetical is 135. The determinant coefficient (r2) = 0, 225 means that the achievement motive is influenced by adversity quotient of 22.5%.
